The Dream of Hell
"If we compare the dream of human society with the description of hell that religions all around the world have promulgated, we find they are exactly the same . If we look at human society, we see a place so difficult to live in because it is ruled by fear . We learn to dream hell in our personal life -- the same dream [as that of society]. --from a discussion on Domestication and the Dream of the Planet in the book "The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom" by Don Miguel Ruiz, http://www.amazon.com/The-Four-Agreements-Practical-Personal/dp/1878424319/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1341488752&sr=8-1&keywords=four+agreements#_
Is Mankind in the Process of Escaping the Group Human Soul?
I've read in a number of sources that each member of an animal species shares a group soul particular to that species. Same apparently goes for minerals and plants. Because humans are self-aware, we as individuals are touted as having individual souls. It's true, we are self-aware, but we are also greatly aware of the opinion of others, on many levels ranging from conscious to deeply unconscious.
Could it be that mankind as a species is still in the process of escaping from its own group soul? This would explain the influence that the collective unconscious mind still has on each of us, although we are individually aware of our existence. Perhaps the same is true of elephants and dolphins. --Alice

PS: Barbra Brady recommends bridge pose and shoulder stand to stimulate the "Bindu," the back funnel of the third-eye point. She also provides a wonderful side diagram showing the location of bindu. The spot labeled "agya" in the diagram may be intended to refer to "ajna," the front funnel of the third-eye. Note also the dorsal and ventral energy flows mentioned above in the topic on Posture, Energy Flow and the Emotional Body. -- http://barbrabrady.com/2010/11/19/bindu-chakra-yogas-heavenly-drop/ intended to refer to "ajna," the front funnel of the third-eye. Unconscious Thought Cloud of the World --
A human who is conscious uses the incredible abilities of the mind to create new ways of being, new ways of seeing this reality, and new ways of responding to reality.
Here is the tricky part: the old patterns are woven deep into the matrix of society. They are an aspect of mass consciousness. They are stron in their frequency, and are skilled triggers that activate limiting fearful beliefs and a sense of powerlessness. It is a moment to moment process of staying aware and awake to lift one's vibrational frequqncy, which stops the automatic responses.
We offer you the reminder to raise your frequency. Your emotions are the key. When you vibrate the frequency of joy, gratitude, and appreciation as well as the master frequency of love, you are in a state of wakeful consciousness. You are heart connected. You are connected to the open channel of guidance and inspiration. You attract and allow more positive life giving energy into you5r field. ..............

In this picture I see: grace and the unconscious thought cloud of the world. The Sikhs call the latter "the terrible world ocean." From the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred text of the Sikhs: "One who grasps the Hem of the Gown of the Holy Saint, O Nanak, crosses over the terrible world-ocean." --Alice

One thing I can say with certainty: On the very brink of hell, when all is lost and naught but despair awaits us, if then we feel for one fleet moment that ancient longing for the higher realms, there is one sure and certain deliverance. With all our hearts, from the very depths of our soul, we must look to that aspect of God that we hold most dear, bow to that presence, and offer it all that we are or ever will be.

California Snail
The world is trussed up in a tiny place like a snail that's pulled deep into its shell and sealed itself off from the dry summer days --blind to the vast blue bowl of the sky --blind to the budding flower and dappled shade --tingling, in the faintest, muffled way, to the chirrup of towhee, the scolding of squirrels, and the crinkle krunch that the driveway makes as a home-wending father's starburst joy sings the lyric last lines of his working day.

Grids of Unconscious Thought
"There do exist... in the atmosphere throughout the entire planet, floating force fields or grids containing the scapegoat energies of mankind's wrong thought and feeling. These abide in larger quantities in the so-called ghettos of the large cities and such places as are rampant with the ravages of crime and poverty. Yet I can recall but few spaces upon the landed area of the earth where these large force fields do not occasionally drift to bring about potential destruction where taken in. They are like floating minefields in the sea. Insidiously existing beneath the level of visibility, they drift to affect the unwary of mankind and to bring about results little dreamed of b most contemporary men .
"I cannot deny some of them, by reason of size and density patterns, are particularly lethal and hence deadly to those who are unsuspecting and therefore unprotected against them. Just as a cloud will cover the face of the sun preceding a storm, so in many cases a sudden feeling or drop in the normal level of happiness or well-being will indicate the presence of such an invisible force field. There are two simple defenses available to mankind against these unseen pitfalls. One is to recognize that mobility can soon bring an individual into an area out of the center of the thrust; hence, many times a distance of one or two miles will give absolute safety. At other times, for various reasons when individuals cannot conveniently flee the invaded area, they can make mighty application to the Godhead, to the cosmic beings and the ascended masters including beloved Jesus and Archangel Michael, for spiritual assistance in moving these force fields away or transmuting them into light."

Subjective, Collective and Objective Awareness
There are three circles of awareness -- subjective, collective and objective. Your subjective experience is your reality as you experience it. And then we have the collective experience, which means all those around you, what they are experiencing subjectively. There's a difference, sometimes.
The third circle is very important to avoid delusion. When we work in altered states of consciousness, we need to be very clear and precise in how we frame it to ourselves to avoid delusional states.
We also have to be very careful in the overlapping territory of the objective and subjective, because when you get enough people together, and they believe the same thing, there's a force field, a reality. It's a nesting. If somebody is outside of that nesting because they experience something different, there's an inherent human, mammalian response: "Oh, you're not part of our herd!"
I think that's a tragedy. It expresses itself culturally, individually. So the most resourceful thing is curiosity -- "Well, what did you experience?" And what were the commonalities?

Personal Reality vs Collective Reality This whole section is a quote. Source is at the bottom of the section.--Alice
Q: My question for the team is concerning realities. I'm struggling with getting my head around the concept of our having individual realities and also about the interaction of collective reality
A: Let us answer your question in this way. You have a home or a place of dwelling, yes?
Q: Yes.
A: And that is your reality. In some form. We are wanting to give you a simple analogy that you might be able to identify with as we explain a very complex reality in very simple terms, if we may. So you have a place that you have as your dwelling.
Q: Um-hum.
A: And it has your possessions and your favorites and your comfort, yes?
Q: Yes.
A: And it feels very real to you, and you live there, and sleep there, and nurture yourself there, and your friends and loved ones, yes?
Q: Yes.
A: And yet, you can step outside that door into a much larger community. ..
Q: Um-hum.
A: Which has your marketplaces and other dwellings and so forth. It is very similar energetically to that. That is a simple way that we can explain it. You have your personal reality that you exist in, and it is created by your beliefs and your thoughts and your emotions and experiences and so forth and so on. And you also are always tapping into, touching into, expanding into the larger reality of the energy field or the matrix. Is that assisting you in any way?
Q: Oh, yes, it's very helpful to have that analogy.
A: Now we will expand it just a bit further, if we may, for you . This is only one dimension. So now imagine that the reality of your dwelling and the reality of your larger community and then the larger world community -- and what you focus on and experience in your day or moment is a small aspect of this particular dimension and reality. But there are other, broader dimensions and realities that you are also being invited to begin to -- how do we say? -- acknowledge, or invite, or even experience. And we can say the easiest and quickest way to do this is in your imagination.
Begin to sense what it might be like, and what another dimension might be like if things were not as solid as you are so used to experiencing them.
We again acknowledge you as a multidimensional being. And we realize that very statement leaves a lot of individuals that hear those words puzzled. But we assure you: The physical reality, and your personal dwelling place, takes up a lot of your attention and focus. And yet, who you are is beyond that private dwelling. Who you are is beyond the community. Who you are is beyond the global community, you see. Your consciousness is beyond that.
But let us put it this way. For the time being in this lifetime you've focused it down to a very narrow focus. And that is who you are in this physical embodiment. And it is sometimes required that you are very focused in your physical reality, especially when you're dealing with one of your automobiles or other places in which you could harm your physical vehicle if you were not focused and alert. Do you see what we are saying?
Q: I do.
A: But you are not always just that physical body ever. You are always bigger in consciousness. And so we are just inviting you, in this evolution of consciousness that is taking place on your planet, to begin to embrace that bigness. To look at it, in as simple terms as you can possibly look at it, and realize: Your thoughts, your emotions, your experiences -- as you transmute any challenge that is before you -- that influences the field around you. It influences your circle and contact of people. It influences the community in which you live. It influences the global community. And it influences and taps into who you are as a multidimensional being. So you begin to realize [that] when you uplift your emotions, when you transform an emotion, you're affecting all those many levels of reality.

Trap and Release
I was sitting at a hotel reception desk, using their computer. The lady there said that was fine. She retired to an inner office. From there, I could feel her hurling unhappy thought forms my way. These thought forms were interfering with my typing -- every time Intercepted one, I'd get derailed from my own "train of thought" and make a typo. This was making it difficult to complete my email.
The longer I sat there, the faster came the onslaught of emotion-laden thoughts. What is this? Do other people just exist to destroy my peace of mind? Somehow these thoughts are getting netted by my own subconscious mind; the energy of my responsive thought form stays with me unless consciously released. It's a general feeling of malaise. A vague guiltiness. An unwillingness to sit at that desk any more.
What to do about these thoughts-of-another? Trap and release?

To Go Before the Mast and on the Deck of the World
"The surface of the earth is soft and impressible by the feet of men; and so with the paths which the mind travels. How worn and dusty, then, must be the highways of the world, how deep the ruts of tradition and conformity! I did not wish to take a cabin passage, but rather to go before the mast and on the deck of the world, for there I could best see the moonlight amid the mountains. I do not wish to go below now." --from "Conclusion," in Walden by Henry David Thoreau, http://thoreau.eserver.org/walden02.html
